Legal trainings for orphans

Three-day training courses on legislative guarantees and mechanisms of implementation of rights of poor children in such spheres as housing rights, labor rights, social security, health care, property inheritance, education, mechanisms of protection of violated rights, access to required information were conducted for 8-, 9- and 10-form pupils from boarding schools of Vosse, Temurmalik, Vakhsh and Jaloliddin Rumi regions in March 2009.

As a result of training courses inmates have united into four informal self-help groups:
• “Devashtitch”- Vakhsh region
• “Donish” – Jaloliddin Rumi
• “Bahoriston” – Vose region
• “Hamdilon” – Temurmalik region

Each group consists of 20 people. Children’s self-help group has the following structure:
• General assembly of the group
• Group’s council
• Group leader

Groups have the following goals:
• Distribution of knowledge about children’s rights on the basis of the Convention on the rights of the child and current legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan;
• Teaching children and the youth patriotism and love towards their motherland;
• Distribution of practices of children’s appeals to protect their rights;
• Implant the foundations of law and respect to law in children as well as aware children about legal guarantees in various spheres.
• Attraction of public attention and the state to pressing problems of the childhood;
