Goal: “Stimulate the development of effective civil society to support marginal and vulnerable strata of the population and ensure accountability of communities, local authorities and authorities at the national level”.
ACT CA-funded “Raising level of anticorruption consciousness in rural area”
Project term: 1 December 2009 – 30 April 2010
Coverage area: Muminobod, Bokhtar and Rudaki regions
The goal of the project is to “Raise the level of counter-corruption consciousness and introduce mechanism of public participation of the population in monitoring of corruption in Bokhtar, Muminobod and Rudaki regions”
ACT CA-funded “Department of Children’s Rights – active instrument to protect the rights of the child”
Project term: 1 November 2009 – 30 October 2010
Coverage area: Vosse, Temurmalik, Vakhsh, Rumi regions
The goal of the project is to “Develop mechanisms and improve legislative practice of Departments of the Rights of Children at risk in 4 regions of Khatlon District”
Raising level of anti-corruption consciousness in rural areas” project;
On December 1, 2009, the Rights & Prosperity international public organization launched a new project on “Raising level of anti-corruption consciousness in rural areas”. The project is funded by Act Central Asia.
The overall goal of the project: is to “Raise the level of anti-corruption consciousness and introduce mechanism of public participation in monitoring of corruption in Bokhtar, Muminobod and Rudaki regions.”
Target groups are:
• Members and heads of mahallas (men and women), members of public chamber (DFID-led project), members and heads of jamoat development committees and local public structures
• Local officials, senior officials and workers from local self-government structures
• Local non-governmental organizations and representatives of regional mass media
Coverage area
The planned project activity to be implemented in Muminobod, Bokhtar and Rudaki regions.
Strategies of intervention:
The project will be based on the following strategies of intervention:
• Researches among community members, local officials and representatives of self-governing structures.
• Design of educational program (legal capacity) for community members and senior officials from self-governing bodies, local officials and representatives of public organizations and mass media in target regions.
• Strengthening legal capacity of target groups in the field of corruption, its causes and solutions.
• Introduction of counter-corruption methods through the activity of Public Chamber – introduction of public corruption control tools
• Awareness campaigns on corruption issues and its appearance at community level and ways of resolution.
Experts and sociologists are now elaborating research methodologies to examine public relation to corruption-related problems.
