89th session of the Local Development Committee in Muminobod region.
The session has brought together senior officials of the region and representatives of regional branch offices of ministries, heads of jamoats, active villagers, representatives of local public and religious organizations, commercial sector and international organizations, including “Rights & Prosperity” International Public Organization.
The participants have discussed the following issues:
1. Report of local authorities on implementation of development plan of the region.
2. Work plan on preparation for the forthcoming elections.
3. Report of “Rights & Prosperity” IPO on the launch and work of the Public Chamber.
4. Reports of heads of jamoats on implementation of projects on organization of access of livestock to pastures and selection of project area for a new project.
“Rights & Prosperity” IPO has presented the activity initiated by the Public Chamber (PC) of the region in the frameworks of the “Governance for vulnerable groups” project supported by the UK Department for International Development. The participants have outlined the importance of this work and cited access to information as a problem of both vulnerable groups of population and local authorities of remote regions.
Public Chamber has well-equipped information and resource center which provides the population with free access to legal information. Related office accessories have been purchased for volunteer activity. Public Chamber shares its office with the Local Development Committee and accepts visitors every Friday from 9:00 till 12:00.
